NANOCHEMISTRY LAB.

Department of Chemistry, Okayama University

The aim of our research is to explore nanometrology by exploiting the novel functionality of inorganic nanomaterials.

We are currently investigating nanoscale properties of biological samples and electronic devices, through optical responses of nanodiamonds and metallic nanoparticles.

Our multidisciplinary research involves chemistry, physics, and biology.

Diversity is one of the key values of our department both in terms of science and research life.

NanoChem has started since Apr. 1, 2021.

Yajuan's paper has been published in Chemosphere!

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0045653524009536?dgcid=author

Here, we have explored the nanobio interactions between C. elegans body and surface-engineered nanoparticles and found that it is possible to manipulate the nanoparticle accumulation by the surface control. This is a collaboration with Prof. Nishina ( Okayama Univ.), Profs. Komatsu, Kage-Nakadai (Kyoto Univ.), and Prof. Shikano (Tsukuba Univ.).

Congratulations!! Keisuke was awarded a PhD!!
His thesis title is "Quantum biosensing with nitrogen vacancy centers in fluorescent nanodiamonds". His doctor's hat admires his microwave antenna for diamonds with frog tissues (Lab Chip (2022).). He is also awarded to a prize of Dean of Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology! He still stays with us as JSPS Research Fellow. We look forward to our further collaboration!
